Living Through the Gunas

In Indian philosophy, life moves through three energies - Rajas, Tamas, and Sattva. They shape how we feel, move, rest, create, gather, and return to ourselves. At House of Arah, we see objects not merely as things we own, but as quiet influences on the way we live.

We are multidimensional beings.

Some days ask for clarity.
Some for movement.
Some for stillness,

The Gunas remind us that every phase has value and the spaces around us quietly shape how we move through them.

Tamas

Depth • Rest • Grounding

Tamas is the energy of stillness, pause, and restoration. It reminds us to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves.

Sattva

Clarity • Balance • Lightness

Sattva is the energy of calm awareness, harmony, and presence. It invites softness, clarity, and spaces that allow us to slow down and breathe.

Why it matters?

The spaces we inhabit are never neutral.
Light, texture, objects, and atmosphere quietly influence how we feel — often before we realize it.
At Arah, each collection is designed around these emotional energies.
